Thinkin bout Suriname RTB

Kicksome123 Apr 13, 2007 01:52 PM

I was just wondering around and thought they looked really cool. I dont think the cage will be a big problem and I want another snake. Anyone got some great caresheets that I could look at. I also need a good place to buy the snake and then if I HAVE to have a heat lamp I will just forget about getting one because I have enough heat lamps in my room and its getting my room very hot. Thanks...

Suriname boas will eat f/t, and you should ONLY feed f/t to your boas. Live rodents pose concern of injury to the snake, as well as harbor parasites.

If you can, you should try to get it from Rio Bravo Reptiles, they have some very nice boas and specialize in locality. you dont need a heatlamp you can use heat tape. But you need a thermostat to control the temps, heat tape without something to control the power will just burn up. You could buy a simple dimmer switch and use that but you have to make sure to monitor the temps so they dont get too hot or to cold and then manually adjust the dimmer accordingly. A thermostat would do that for you.

Yep I got a helix DBS1000 for my BRB and the temps for both boas are about the same so I can hook them up to just one ^_^
