kyla123 Aug 13, 2003 08:13 PM

I just received another corn snake. it is healthy but it stinhs. I have completly cleaned the cage and changed the substrate, but the snake still stinks and when I touch it the smell gets all over me. I have 4 snakes and they are completly odourless. how do I get rid of the smell?

Is he musking you?
If he is musking when you pick him up, you will definitely notice the stink.

nothing abrasive, but put some hand soap in a small container of warm water, froth it up a bit and give the little guy a bath...

I bathe my snakes about once a year or if they bloody a live mouse and get messy. If you're snake is constapated AT ALL, you're sure to find it out during the bath too...

Good luck!
