A good begginer Lizard?

herpguy24 Apr 13, 2007 04:58 PM

What is a good starter lizard or gecko? I have a 10 gallon and 20 gallon long. I would like it if they weren't too skittish.

Hello:
Leopard Geckos, A slightly larger than baby Bearded Dragon, Blue Tongue Skinks, or Plated Lizards. All are easy to care for and fairly tame.
Have a Great Day!!!

A young collared lizard would be fine in a 20 long for now, later you could increase the size of his/her home if you got a mate, bigger house is always better.

These guys are not only super colorful, but with handling can become very friendly and will jump right in your hand to come out. Captive bred make the nicest pet, wild caughts are a bit harder to acclimate. I have some that have become real nice pets but it took quite some time.

Good luck with your lizard quest !
