Snake not pooping

bobbieszoo Apr 14, 2007 12:25 AM

Have had Cadbury for three weeks now. He has eaten 2 large mice and is shedding this week. Have not seen a poop yet (unless he managed to bury it in the substrate). He is a nice, gentle snake that seems to be "active"...as active as I've seen any Ball. He has a large bowl he can soak in if he wants. Should I do something for him or am I being overly paranoid?

First off I love the name. Yes your being paranoid.. It is fine he will go eventually, each snake is different in how long it takes. It can be a few weeks. Be patient and trust me you can not miss it..

Thanks. I had snakes before, but have forgotten all this sort of stuff. Won't be so paranoid after my books arrive.

If he's starting to shed, then he'll most likely poop around the same time he sheds. I have snakes shed and poo the same night all the time.

Mine ususally poop in their shed. Makes getting a nice shed for the kids to take to school kinda hard to do though.

My big female often goes about a month inbetween poops, and when she goes it's often about the same size turd as a dog's.
And, like everyone mentioned, she'll probably poop with her shed

Yep, went in this morning to a complete shed and a poop....and a hungry snake, got him a mouse this afternoon and he wasted no time. Thanks for being there, everyone!
