Alright now I have a question about lighting I have read that compact flourescent lighting is neccesary in magazines and a few posts, However I have also seen on one post someone used repti glo bulbs which are just regular flourescents. How many lights do I need and what kind for a 20 or 30 gallon tank? Does anyone have brand preferences? Also I have been reading a lot about computer fans on this forum yet I have also seen many setups that did not have these and have read that dart frogs need relatively little air circulation and I would think the fans would decrease humidity. Can someone explain to me what they're for? Thanks again you've been a big help so far.

I have a 38 gallon tank (36X12x18) with a dual 36" striplight from lowes. I use repti-glo 2.0 lights in it. I have notice nice plant growth but am having trouble with my plants now. (im 18 and a guy, i dont know crap about plants). But it gives plenty off light. All you have to do to wire it is get a 3 prong replacment power cord and wire it properly.

COmputer fans are used to get a little air circulation and to defog glass. I keep mine on a timer it turns on for 8 minutes every 2 hours during the day. If left on a long time humidity will drop.

repti-glos are 6700k and 97cri. The cheapest price i could find are at reptiledepot.com My opinion with them is i will buy dry goods, but i will not buy live animals. I will not say way on this forum.

I don't know much about circulation and fans but my tanks have been fine without them. I do know that there is a huge difference in lighting between compacts and regulars. I have 1 regular plant bulb on my 40 gallon and it is good light and provides the light I need but compared to my compact it is like dark. My compact on my 46 gallon puts out so much more light than anything else! I would go with them, they are worth the money.
