Blood x Ghost(trip.het.Pewter/Ghost)born

dayle_boas Apr 15, 2007 04:52 AM

This is a litter from my Blood male to a really nice Ghost. I produced her in 03 from dhg x dhg of which I also produced from a pure Orange Tail to anery back in 99. Since the Ghost didn't look that big I wasn't expecting much from her but I'm satisfied to have gotten the six healthy babies in the pics. She has the appearance of a super and all the babies are hypo so she is more than likely a super.

Since I don't keep up much with the boa scene, I'm not sure if any others have done this breeding yet. But, my first Blood breeding was to a dhg, in 05, so there are some poss hets that should be going this coming season. Because my Ghost line is so clean and light, it will be interesting to see how faded these Pewter Ghosts turn out.

but would those be het Pewter? I ask because isn't the Pewter a Type II Anery Blood. If I am not mistaken that is a Colombian Ghost that had your litter.

Yes but without making up a new name, I don't what else to call them except Pewter Ghost (type 1.) When they become visual, and if show dramatic differences to type 2, they may deserve a new name. The Ghost mother is virtually axanthic, has a pure white belly and side pearling with a very faded fine line pattern. So, hopefully the visuals will be really unique.

I haven't seen adult Pewter boas but the babies certainly appear to be very dramatic anerys. The hypo pewter may be one of the best ways to get at a truely white boa; blood anery albino hypo. These kinds of projects take alot of work and time. Too bad your blood male wasn't a het for anery as some of them are. Best of luck to you with those animals, that is a really good litter.

I look forward to seeing this project at its completion. (Blood x Type 1 anery is something I've wanted to see since the Pewters were produced).

Best of luck with the project.

Dayle this is a nice clutch of hets, and I see this as a nice gateway to making some awesome morphs. Good luck to you.
