Hoping to get my first digital camera...

VicsVariables Apr 16, 2007 01:17 AM

Ok, I can't stand it anymore. I want a digital camera so I can take pics of my critters. I am technologically impaired, but I've tentatively picked out a camera in a price range I think I can afford that has macro and image stabilization (a must for me). Anyone have any feedback for the Panasonic DMC-LZ75 7.2 MP digital camera? I hope it is relatively easy to use (with some practice). I can hardly wait to take pics of my snakes.
Any imput would be appreciated.
Vicky

Vic,

First of all. I had no idea you were a Vicky. I thought you were Victor. This puts everything in a whole new light.

I recently bought a panasonic DMC-FZ7. It's very similar to the one you are getting. Mine is a 6 MP. It's an excellent camera. I only have a couple of minutes here, I'll add more later.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep, "Vic" is a "Vicky" that loves the Thayeri.
By the way, are the two '06 males on your site (the orange milksnake phase and the previous holdback intermediate phase) related to each other, or the orange milksnake phase '06 female? I absolutely love the pics of your Variables.
Thanks again for the info.

I had to do a little research to answer your question. The simple answer is that none of those three are related in any way. All 3 are from different clutches. Shoot me an email if you have specific question. There are some changes that just occured.

Like I was saying in my previous post, that panasonic is a great camera for the money. Be careful with the camera stores out of NY. They advertize low but then want to upsell you with expensive accesories. If you don't buy they put your order on backorder. Check references. I got mine from amazon.com and got excellent price and service. Jonel Lopez also has the same Pansonic camera I have. I think you'll be very happy. My only advice is........... take the time to read the owners manual. It pays big dividends in the end.

I'm not familiar with that exact camera but also check shutter speed and frames it can shoot per minute. The Canon's and Sony's are very good but I'm sure there are others. I have a Kodak that sounded good at the time but takes lousy pictures except in bright light. It's time to focus is terrible as is shutter speed so it does not deal well with any movement. The three Canon's I have all take great pics in low light and action (except squirmy baby snakes).
