Very Sad Night...We lost the baby beardie we rescued from petsmart this evening

Feeling very sad tonight . The little beardie i rescued from petsmart passed away tonight.Althought this little one had only been with us for a few days you become so attached to these wonderful creatures so fast. At least he died with a fighting chance and people who cared instead of in a dark cage all alone. I have written a letter to petsmart corporate office which will most likely not make a small dent in the problems they cause but we must start somewhere in this fight against these animals. It's just a crying shame they must suffer as they do.. thanks for listening.

very much before petsmart, althought they contribute greatly to the early demise of many bearded dragons, with wrong advice and poor care in the stores.

People breeding dragons are the real problem, most have no home for them to go to, larger breeders producing for the few special colors and wholesaling off the rest, again because there is no home for them to go to..... and many of both breeding dragons that are not fit to breed to start with. And why? for the sake of a few dollars.

AS long as people keep breeding dragons they do not know their genetic line to, more babies will end up like that. Its very sad and the only way to halt it is for breeders here to get back to breeding for strenght and heartiness, like they had orignally. Not just because we have a male and a female.

Thank you for making his last short days better than probably many of his siblings had.

writing a letter to corporate won't make a difference because corporate believes their Animal care coordinator knows how animals are supposed to be taken care of (they read care sheets don't you know, such as a 90*F hot spot for all reptiles, a constant supply of mealies, Leos on sand, only a dry hide needed for Leos, a hot rock for everyone, small animals on pine, and the list goes on and on. They will not listen to reason, because they know it all.
But, if maybe we could create a massive petition outlining proper care and signed by everyone and their brother or maybe a week of banning these big pet companies...maybe something durastice will sink in. Maybe the new will get a hold of our "petition for proper care" - that will surely light some fires.
But, can we all even possibly pull together for such a thing? That is the question.

Sorry for any typoes - new keyboard and it doesn't have the same feel to it.
