New Aboreal Cage

ttreptile1 May 21, 2003 02:17 PM

I just finished making this cage from an old discarded 65 gallon reef tank. The front is custom acrylic with 2 frameless doors and the bottom one vented. The hood is also vented and has two micro fans built in (runnning very low) to draw fesh air through. It also has a built in flourescent light and heat panel.

I might go with an Amazon Tree boa for it. What other aboreal reptiles / amphibians would work in this setup? Thanks!

TT

Didn't I respond to you about this on a Chondro forum?

Regardless, You did a great job. I actually think that would be more than sufficient for a Chondro if you're still thinking that way.

My two favorite arboreal reptiles are Gonyosoma oxycephala and Uroplatus henkeli. Both would look fantastic in there and would benefit from the efforts you made with the fans, etc. to keep the air fresh. Some of the Day Geckos and Chameleons would also be do well.

An Amazon would be great as well, though.

As long as the species does not scratch the acrylic you'll be fine. Really only rules out something like Black Tree Monitor.
