Junglows are here!

salmonboa.com Apr 16, 2007 06:44 PM

Finally this litter has arrived! We have been really excited about this Sunglow female because she is a virgin and a very special Sunglow! She was bred to a Jungle het. albino and has been absolutely enormous through out the entire gestation!

On Friday the litter arrived and it appears that we have maybe one Junglow, Jungles, Sunglows, albinos, albino Jungles, Jungle Salmons, Salmons, and several normals. The surprising thing from this litter is the number of potential offspring. There were 22 live babies, 6 slugs, and 6 premies so for a first time female, 34 is quite the litter!

I did not get good birth photos of this litter so will have to put up some post shed pics of them next week!

Congrats to all of the boa makers with awesome litter produced lately!

Thanks
Rich and John

First let me say congratulations on a very nice litter. I am however confused about the name and hope you can educate me. I know Frank and Pete produced sunglow jungles in 2004 and 2005 and had breeder size adult sunglow jungles this year. As far as I know they call them sunglow jungles. Is this a sharp strain sunglow jungle or some other new combination?

At any rate the babies look great and I look forward to seeing pictures after they shed.

First of all, thanks for all of the comments...we certainly appreciate it. As far as the name "Junglow" its not official! We were not the first to produce a Jungle Sunglow... I believe Pete Kahl was the first. It just seems like a cool abbreviation, and that is what we like to call them around here. Technically, they are Jungle Salmon albinos, or Salmon Jungle albinos, or albino Jungle Salmons, or Jungle Sunglows!

Thanks again!

John
