What if the local new's was going o interview you about your snakes and hobbie. what would be the 2 most important statements you would want to make?duno about were everone else lives but 10 to 15 years ago there were reptile pet stores all in Memphis TN. and surounding areas. then petco and super pets came to town and they are the only ones that remain to this day. all they sell is sm lizards and corn snakes.

What statement would you make about what i fill is a dieing hobbie around here.

I wouldn't do the interview at all. Words can get twisted through editing, and people in the neighborhood can get carried away with the smallest thing. It's nice to show others the good side of reptile keeping, but with the news you have no control on the final product, nor do you have any control on who the audience is.

The two statements i would make are simple.
First, this is the most gratifying hobby i have ever been a part of and am glad to know that i am making a difference, not only in the surrounding community, but within the herp community too.
Second, there is something fascinating about the ancient history, evolution, and awe inspiring lives of each of the species of reptiles. To study and learn about them is a priviledge. Once you own a reptile that you love, it is addicting.
