My husband cuaght a hognose snake today at work...

How bout posting some more information? Like where it was found? Doing a search through google will get you enough info for an ID.

If you are truly interested in keeping a hognose as a pet, there are many Westerns that are captive bred, disease and parasite free. Converting a wild snake to captivity can be very difficult, and hognoses are famous for not adjusting without veterinary care and extensive knowledge of the species. Consider letting this one go. Healthy wild animals deserve to be free.
