So we have always liked the look of the Gray-banded, and had been trying to find one locally to no avail. We called one of our local pet stores, and they said “Yeah, we have a king snake” When we asked what kind it was they said “It’s a Regular King snake.” (This is the place where you should laugh.) Ok so you folks out there who are totally into your king snakes that have red on them, could you shoot a clue at us as to the type i.e. alterna, blairs etc. This is a place we have never been before, we don’t know if color changes happen as it ages. Right now it is a baby, so keep that in mind if that factors in at all. (We have many other snakes care for it is not really a question.) What we are interested in is scientific name and any color changes (if there are any) as it ages. Thanks so much. Tessi_gal and Max

Looks like its a "mexicana-complex" hybrid of some sort. Looks to have at least some ruthveni in it.
