Cage color for BRB

run26neys Apr 17, 2007 08:53 AM

I am getting ready to order cages for my snakes, and would like input on color. I have a choice of Black, Gray, or White. I don't really like the white, but this is a personal preference, but I would get white if it is best for the animals. The black looks cool, but not sure if it is harder to tell if it needs to be cleaned (although I do clean often). I am indifferent on Gray.

Dave- I am looking at the same brand as your purchased cages. How do you like the black?

Thanks!

I like my black Boaphiles. I do use paper for substrate and checking is done with a flashlight. I too would say no on white. Gray....????

i have the blk version of the cage, after a good cleaning, wet the entire surface and then lay down newspaper, even up in the corners, even that doesn't help. if they go on the plastic, the urates are hard to remove and i have the white residue of it till this day after a thoughout cleaning. Next time it's white for me.

I would rather have the black, if I used white it would be harder for me to see the urates, like the water in my soft shell enclosure, if it looks clean, doesn't mean it is clean, that is the reason I do not use filters for my turtles, I clean 2 times weekly instead, to avoid, a feeling of security, when there technically is none.
