New Arrival

newblood85 Apr 17, 2007 10:00 AM

Ok guys. I got the little thing today at about 10am. He arrived live and well. He is a little cutie. Sorong Green Tree Python. Here are some pics. I have to revamp his set up, the heat light didnt work out and was putting off fumes (found that out before he went in). So at lunch I will have to make a quick run to the petstore and grab a UTH. i might even switch from rubbermade to sterilite tonight. He is getting his heat from being near a space heater, its working well as a temp fix. Ill probably end up going to lunch early to get him set up. What fun would life be without unexpected complications? lol. here are some pics.
Ps. Id like to thank Jay from Exotic Jungle for this awsome little guy/girl

Very pretty baby. Where did you get it from? I usually try to set up my cages at least a week before the arrival of my new kids to make sure all temps are stable and....as you've found out...if things aren't right. Then I have time to fix it before I have a new arrival to deal with.

I agree. I would have liked to have waited, but I ordered the little guy and thought I'd have it set up in time. Thinks just didnt work out that way. Then in testing things went worse... Plus there was a delay on my thermostate. Good thing I got it monday to test test it. I got things to good temps once i got him home and set up in his new container. His rubbermade didnt work out. From now on its sterilite all the way for me. Havent had trouble with them yet. Anyway He is doing well. I have the temps at 79-85 F and the humiditys were around 75% range with a night dry period. Im using an under tank heater now and seems to be working better. He too perch on his thermometer last night. I do admit I about had a heart attack this morning when I woke up. I thought I'd have a quick peek to check temps and suck and to my suprise i found poop, but no chondro. I almost fell over dead on the spot. I opened the cage and found him motoring around under the news paper. I hear this isnt a problem unless done for a few days in a row. And like i said, he isnt just staying there, he is going all under it and coming out and checking things out.
