Since i didnt get any responses last time lets give this a try. do any of you feed for torts butterworms? i give my RFT a few butter worms once a week for a nice calcium rich/ animal protien treat.

I always had problems with butterworms when I used them for my lizards. They seemed to "go bad" quickly or even arrive in poor shape.

I don't remember - what is the fat content of butterworms?

Surely they would be a good source of animal protein for redfoots but I don't have any & am definetely not an expert.

I see you have thayeri, I used to have a bunch of those. It was always amazing to hatch a clutch! All of the babies with different patterns & colors. Amazing!

I found what seems to be a good place to get them. they cam in in very good shape, i have other animals that eat them too, so they should stick around too long in order to go bad. if you wanna know that place, private email me.

the fat on them is 5.21gm i am pretty sure.

as for thayeri, they are the coolest snakes if you ask me, simply because of their colors and they arent ridiculously prices like "other snakes" that are drab compaired to a bright thayeri

wow, looks like he likes them! mine had "worm jerky" once (he ate a dried up earthworm he found on the driveway)...
