My thayeri has all of a sudden decided she likes to swim and sit in her water dish. Has anyone else had thayeri that enjoy swimming? Most snakes I've had from arid regions never liked the water.

many times, sitting in water bowl means:
cage too warm
start of shedding process
or parasite infestation
but he looks ok, probably a little warm. In the summer months, mine will coil around their bowls-not in them.

She doesn't have internal or external parasites, she recently shed, and the cage is the same temp I have always kept it at and she didn't swim much before. The interesting thing is she is moving around inside the water bowl, putting her head under and actively exploring, not coiling up and soaking in the dish.
It looks like she is just enjoying the water every once and a while.
