A few more pine snake photo's...

Phil Peak Apr 17, 2007 06:52 PM

I was a little late in seeing Billy's pine snake post below, but I appreciate seeing all the photo's that he put up as well as those that followed by other posters. I figured I might as well put a few of my own. Above is a pair of my mugitus.

An Ocean county Jersey animal that I acquired from John Meltzer.

Jackson county Alabama northern yearling.

Thanks for looking.

All the southerns I've had have always had metabolisms like a boa, they usually only poop once a week, but when they do I have to get a shovel to clean the cage,LOL,northern pines that I've had, have had fast metabolisms like defecating 3 times a week. Is that the norm? Thanks,Kevin

For the most part all of my Pits go fairly often with particular specimens maybe more so than others. In general the heaviest feeders go a couple or three times per week for me and usually in generous amounts lol!

and thats a good thing when things are working right. a little snake poop never hurt anyone lol! we can always say that we are never bored.

Awesome pines!!! What locality are the southerns from and how big are they? Kevin

Phil Peak Apr 19, 2007 04:58 PM

Thanks! They are some of the few snakes in my collection that are non-locale specific. They are sub-adults, approximately 3.5'.

Wow, nice looking animals you have. I just recently "graduated" from corns to pits so I have only one pine to speak of that's my own. An 06 black pine. This is an older pic and the upper third of her body is almost patternless now. This girl is an awesome snake but she doesn't like me much and poops ALOT more than a corn snake!!

Nice snake! I am really developing an appreciation for black pines. I have one now and plan on acquiring another pair this summer.
