I've had my thayeri kingsnake for a few months less than a year now and I've recently been thinking of getting a second snake since Arella has proven to be one of the best pets I've ever had. I've been looking at Kenyan Sand Boas mainly because of their smaller size and temperment, also their availibility.
I'll probably get something like a sweater box to house the snake and use aspen bedding which I already have. My kingsnake uses newspaper but I thought that shaving would be a better idea for a Sand Boa. I was also thinking about using a heating pad made for humans as described in this article - http://www.anapsid.org/kenyan.html. Does that sound like an OK idea?
And then I guess the only other questions I have are about feeding - my thayeri eats VERY well, but I'm not sure if a Kenyan would take frozen as easily. If anyone has any opinions on that or wants to give any other advice I'd really appreciate it since I'm still just learning about them to decide. Thanks
