I just noticed an update on another bill that I've been tracking.
Y'all have probably all seen trucks full of desert plants that were ripped from our beloved Chihuahuan Desert. Texas is currently the only SW state that does not protect wild growing desert plants from commercial exploitation.
Senator Shapleigh of El Paso authored SB 689 in order to regulate commercial sale and transport of several species of desert plants. As long as we are calling about HB 2414, we may as well take the extra few seconds to support the passage of SB 689. It has just now been scheduled for a public hearing in the Senate on 4/19/07.
