Do you-all ever cut off rodents' tails to save your lizard the hassle of swallowing it? I've tried it, and it makes the mice easier to finish swallowing.

hahahahaha!
try feeding smaller rodents!
When I feed pairs, mainly albigs(a little on the slow side mentally) They still there and flick and toss and mess with the tail of the mouse, normally the second mouse subsequent mice.
So, I often pull the tails off(the mice are dead) and give the females the mice and the males a mouse and the tails. This keeps him busy and prevents the male from taking the females food. It also keeps the males trim and fit and mad.
This is particularly useful when the female is gravid and kinda slow feeding.
So with gravid monitors like gouldi complex and lacies and such. I may do this. But then if I am in a hurry, heck with them.
Back to the begining, albigs seem to hate the tail hanging out of their mouth. Cheers and good one Roger.
I don't get it.
With tails..
But then again, depends on what the tail is attached to, lol...
She just swallows whatever it is sideways, upside down, fowards, backwards, or inside out. I really need to get some newer pics..
