my female water dragon ( the healthy one) has died...
she apparently choked. my waterdragons were on meds for throat infections and wouldnt eat. i could get them to eat wax worms but they wouldnt eat them if i dusted them in calcium. so apparently they had problems swallowing worms (being babies and all). my water dragon choked and died. i feel so terrible about this and tht its my fault and my irresponsibility. if i could of done something to get her calcium she'd be alive today. her name was Compy. now anyways. when i was putting her into a case i made to bury her in. someting cme out of her stomach. it was a wax worm skin!!. thn another another and another. a total of 4 skins. all fomr different days. MY ADVICE!!! DO NOT FEED WAX WORMS TO BABIES. i will never do tht agian. so now i no its not a throat infection in Saurus my other CWD but its ax worm skins. he wont eat and has restless nights. the poor guy. anyways. im giving him back t the pet store where he can be more properly taken care of. and hopefully once im a better lizardperson guy, i can take of a waterdragon. u guys told me not to get one cuz there 2 hard. but i thought if i leaerned enuf i could ocercome lak of expeirance. i studied 5 hours a day but it wasnt enuf. anyways im getitng somehting i have more resources on and is easyeir, which is a tegus. so il lbe in tht forum now cya gusy later

I sorry to hear about your loss. If you loved and enjoyed your waterdragon you should try again. Tragic as it maybe losing a lizards is a learning experience. Most of experience and knowledge is written in such events. We have all had our losses even the most experienced keepers. Its sad to hear about your loss, but its sadder to hear that you are surrendering to your failure. Nothing in live is obtained without failures. How willing you are to learn from such events and continue will determine how successfull you will ultimately be, whether your trying to keep waterdragons, tegus, get a diploma or change the world.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but i wouldn't give your dragon back to the pet store, they don't know any more than u, if not less. Take it to a shelter or ask the vet about it, the petstore will not help your lizard.

I have to agree completely. Most of the time it is the pet store that makes the lizards sick before you even get them. It is sad to hear that you are giving up on waterdragons. In the beginning they can be difficult to take care of until you know exactly what to do, but they are very enjoyable to have and are well worth the frustration.
