Gravid Cal King Pics

FunkyRes Apr 19, 2007 12:25 AM

Just thought I'd share some pics of my gravid gals -

The Lavender is in blue. Amel is not yet in blue - but I expect it soon.

This next pic is a bit fuzzy - I tried to get her eyes. I'm only posting it because you can see the shape of eggs in the coil above her head:

And the Amel -

That spot behind the third band has me a wee bit worried - it is a missing scale that looks like it is taking longer to heal than I would like. I don't know how it happened, but it has been like that for about a month. I think it may have happened in first copulation attempt with my male, she resisted and they thrashed around a bit - she may have scrapes it on his water dish. I removed water dish for further attempts (about the third try she was compliant - after her first shed - that was pattern with other female too, so next year, I won't bother trying until after first shed)

That albino female brings back memories. The first captive born snake I ever purchased was an female albino banded Cal king many years ago. Still likely my favorite Cal king non-normal morph after all these years, although some folks are posting some great Cal king color and pattern morphs here lately. She went on to produce many beautiful Cal kings over many years.

She was 12 and still musking me.. gotta love the Cal kings.
