Water sources

HittoriHanzo Apr 19, 2007 04:25 PM

Which water sources if any do poeple have available, I've read everything from no water, to drip systems, to a bowl always available in the cool end to keep humidity down, to offering water twice a week. What's everyones take on this. On a side-note Bowser has also been doing alot of head bobbing, I assume its a territorial thing and not a mating thing. Any ideas?

Others have much more experience than me but I do not personally keep water in the enclosure. I wash Tiny's greens daily so that there is still a little water on his/her food. I also mist Tiny a small bit while basking on the hot spot. Tiny seems to enjoy it but rarely drinks from the drops.

That's what I've done for the two feedings he's had so far, leaving his food a little wet so I know he's getting hydration, I went back and read all the posts from you got your chuck and found a lot of good info (I kinda feel like I know everyone now 8-). I'm also a little concerned that I haven't noticed any feces in the tank yet and he's been in there for almost 30 hours. The temps are good, and he can bask from about 113 on down. That and the head-bobbing mentioned in another post.

I have never noticed mine head bobbing. I'm not sure of Tiny's sex but I'm leaning towards a female since I don't see large pores. I think at this age I should be able to see larger pores. Maybe the bobbing thing is something a specific sex does. I'm sure someone with more experience can give you an answer. Have you looked for feces under/in between your chucks hide? Mine usually goes on his basking rock but since yours is getting adjusted to a new home maybe it's going in it's hide.

I'll look in the hide, I haven't scoured but my Uro's always go in the same spot. The head bobbing is weird and it's about every other time I go into the room.
