Favorite Frogs

mossman Aug 14, 2003 12:35 AM

Just for fun I wanted to see what everyone thought was their favorite frog. Many of us keep several species and color morph but what is the one that you love the most. It's like kids you say you don't have a favorite but you know you do! Even if you don't keep it but you wish you did because of how awesome it is, then use that.

I'll start. My pick is the bastimentos morph of d. pumilio. They are the hottest frogs I have ever seen. Your turn. Thanks

I'd have to say my orange bicolors are starting to become my favorites.I've only had them for close to 3 months and they are so much bolder then any frog I have now and if they are hiding when I get home from work and mist their tank they come out and look up knowing there's food to be had shortly. One even turns and follows me when I walk by the tank.Great reactions for a 5 month old froglet,I can't wait until they grow up!!!!

My favorite that I own would be between my trio of imitators or the newly aquired oyapoks I just recieved yesterday(see post below). But what I would like is Reticulatus. I think that is a sweet frog. I also am very fond of mysteriosus. Anyway that is kinda my wish list for now. LOL

That's a hard choice. As far as color/pattern is concerned, I would have to say mysteriosus. I just got my little clan a few days ago and they are even more beautiful than I expected them to be (I'm going to fill up the photo gallery as soon as I get a digital camera!) But as far as personality goes, my cobalt tincs are hoot. Sometimes I see one go in an all-out lunge for a fly and completely miscalculate the fly's quickness, resulting in a head-over-end summersault! They are by no means agile, yet they sure think they are!

Thanks Tony, it wasn't exactly easy! Pics are definitely coming soon, even though I might be incriminating myself. Although, I kinda doubt the feds are going to be bustin' down my door because I "happened" across some 'lil 'ol frogs!
By the way, it seems as though the male I got from you will soon be a dad, I found 1 good and 1 bad egg yesterday in a bromeliad, so I'm pretty excited.
