It seems like we're being rushed to choose between bad options (Pay BIG bucks or just cross our fingers).

If we can buy a little time, maybe we can form a better plan.

Under house rules, we can get this booted over to the General Calendar Committee with written notice (or a show of hands once it hits the floor) of five members of the house (see details on page 12 of How a Bill Becomes Law). If that happens, we have will have much more time and far better odds.

Does anyone know of any rep other than Gallego that we can get to do this?

Also, this still hasn't been introduced in the Senate. According to page 15 of How a Bill Becomes Law), the FINAL day for the Senate to consider bills for a third reading is 5/23/07. In effect that means it has to be introduced in the Senate and passed through Senate committee by 5/20/07.

Not sure how big of a risk it would be to "cross our fingers" in the house, then spend the big bucks (if necessary) on the Senate side, if it gets introduced there.

Just my thoughts, everyone needs to evaluate the risks for themselves.
