I will certainly contribute to any legal/lobby fund once I have more detailed and concrete info on the subject.

In the meantime, what about getting the info and ramifications of HB2414 to all of the herp societies around the country and asking for monetary help/donations from them to go to a collective lobby fund to oppose this bill. I have no clue as to how many societies are out there, but it has to be a fair amount and might be worth persuing.

States often look at other laws around the country and copy legislation they think may be appropriate for their respected state. If the herp societies around the country can be persuaded that this could possibly affect all potential individuals/society members who like to look for critters in the field, then perhaps they may be inclined to donate to a potential lobby fund. Of course time to get this done may not exist at this point.

It also might be worth hitting some of the business establishments that appreciate our off season money. We could mention to them that while yes we are fighting this to legally continue that which we enjoy, but that they too stand to lose should this BS bill actually pass. Maybe some will donate to a lobby fund to possibly protect their interest as well.

If these ideas have been mentioned previously I apologize.
