scale separation on female...gravid?

RoswellBoa Apr 19, 2007 11:43 PM

This female has been in with a male for over a month...I saw them breeding many times...

Her last meal was quite small and she passed it a few days ago...she is empty and does not have food in her, but she looks like she's getting big in the back end, the front of her looks normal. She is not a fat snake, this is the first time I've seen the scales on her like this...

Could this mean she is gravid?

Thanks!

Well I can't say for sure, but I was browsing @ boaphile.com and happened to be reading up on Rayteks....there's a picture of a gravid female he's taking the temp of. Check out this link and read a little about the temps of gravid females. http://www.boaphileplastics.com/raytek.html Might help a little . -Don
