Confused.

Gerlow Apr 20, 2007 02:05 PM

Im totally confused. Usually I would say that from mating to egg laying that it would take about 40 days with Western hogs?

I had a female lay 18 eggs today after only 24 days, since the first succesful lockup. Unfortunatly 15 of them where slugs, but the last 3 look very smal, but good.

Anybody had this happend before?

Kinda sounds like you waited too long to put the male with the female and she had already ovulated hence why the eggs were not fertile - they may have been too far along before she mated with the male. If she lays a second clutch, they stand a better chance of being fertile from that mating.

Cant understand if the reason should be that I waited to long. They were taken out of brumation in feb. and put together in middle of march? Worked for me last year.
