monitor size question

ok i have a cage thats 3 1/2 feet wide and 5 feet tall and 3 feet deep. i want a monitor but are there any arboreal monitors that would fit this size cage? thank you in advance for the help

I wouldn't limit yourself to that cage if you really want a monitor. Most cages that people use for other herps are great for monitors. That might not be the case with yours but without you describing it or even better posting a picture of it we can't be of too much help. The height can be used by any species, give them some reason to climb up and they will. RSG posted an excellent step by step cage building process down below. That is really an ideal place to start.

Hello Amelie,
Decide what your objective is going to be(keep one animal, breeding pair, etc.) and this will determine alot with regards to the use and uses of that particular enclosure. I don't know what it is made of but, if it can hold at least a foot of dirt without breaking there may be a species or two of dwarf monitors worth considering. Stick with the dwarf species as any of the medium to large species will outgrow your space in way under a year... Best to you- Mike
