20High vs. 20 Long

Jake_Jackson Apr 20, 2007 06:03 PM

Well, I got the 20 long, and its good. But I may be moving my fish over to a bigger tank, and that would free up a 20 H I could turn into a home for my beardie.

So, which is better and why?

dragon's need ground room more than climbing room so a 20 long would be better.

Plus Beardies need to theromoregulate. So the enclosure must have a hot side with a basking spot or 105-110 and a cool side of 75-85. In addition you need to provide UVB. UVB is filtered out by glass and must be within the distance recommended by the bulb manufacturer. 12" for a Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0, 20" for a Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0

if this is for a baby, 20 long is better. if this is for a dragons 4 months old or bigger, neither is good.

dragon saround 4-5 months old, need a cage much bigger. your looking at wanting a 4 foot long by 2 feet wide by 18 inches high at least for an adult dragons.
