"A Monograph of the Colubrid Snakes of the Genus Elaphe Fitzinger" 1996 by Klaus-Dieter Schulz is considered the rat snake bible by many. It has lots of excellent info on European and Asian rats, but is not cheap. I don't think I'm allowed to point you in the direction of a seller, on this forum, but there are at least one or two sites with links on kingsnake which sell it.
