Good news from Boy Scout Land

antelope Apr 22, 2007 12:29 AM

Just came back from my training seminar and had 52 ears to bend, all registered voters and 11 with personal ties to legislators in my 7 county area. The 52 were presented with a presentation that included a 6 1/2 ft bullsnake, a crevice spiny lizard, a Louisiana/Mexican milk snake intergrade, and a tarantula, all w.c. from Texas right of ways or roads. They loved it, I bent there ears and passed a flyer to each with hb 2414's agenda and a list of our local reps addies. Lots of hunters in the group, a lobbyist for the trucking union and some people with simpathetic ears when told their sons and daughters may be engaged in criminal activities if this crap passes. I know some of them will forget or not follow through, but some will and I pulled some favors, even got them to check out the forum here for info. I have trained a lot of scoutmasters in the last 8 years and met some pretty damn decent folk. I know some will respond.

Ahh, so this is where the hardcore anti-2414 people hang out! That's great, Todd. Can't wait for this thing to die!

Good job Todd. BSA is a good group to have supporting us on this....Now let's just hope that a fair percentage of those scoutmasters don't forget to follow-up on the matter promptly.
