Thanks Jason. We were curious to know if it was a freak think or something that occurs regularly with the stripes. Do any of your older ones have it or any other babies, or just that one?

I hate to ask a stupid question (& maybe hijack the thread a bit)

But who owns the Pied Retic??? Has it's genetics been proven?

Mike Wilbanks traded a leucistic ball for it a year and a half ago when white balls were still rare.

Hey Patrick, We have 4 hatchlings that have white on their lower sides, but niether of the adults have any at all. I just thought it was a freak thing but since you produced some, maybe theres something more to it.

It'll be exciting to see if these white sided babies prove out to be something new when bred to another white sided baby.

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to name them "white sided retics" or anything like that.

Maybe it's some sort of hidden gene? The adults that we have don't have it either, which is why we thought it was a freak thing. Did you breed stripe to stripe to get them? We bred stripe to het. It would be interesting to breed a pair together to see if the white increases or decreases. Although, do you have any older ones that have it, or just the babies, because maybe it fades with age. Either way, it's pretty neat for an already cool looking snake.
