If that boa is 9 feet, that would make the rat about a four pounder.
...I know 9' and thats not 9' sorry...

to all the posts that have posted. i have not lived in rochester Ny Before (sorry). Also the rats i feed usually run between 2-3LBS and i also took a measurement and the snake is actually 88-90 inches. i tried to measure acuratly but couldnt get her to stretch out all the way. Belive me or not everyone has the right to there opion.

". . . Also the rats i feed usually run between 2-3LBS . . ."
Rodentpro's (known for having rats on the large side, and other things) XXXL rats, their largest size, are under 1 1/3 pounds, their medium rabbits weigh that much, just where do you get these XXXXXXL to XXXXXXXXXL rats (and can I get a breeding pair)? That's about twice the weight of their XXXL rats.

well if you must be so sarcastic i do not always weigh my rats ( i said between 2-3lbs) but i get my rats from incredible pets. look it up on the net get there number on the website and call them. they are located in Melbourne Fl. that is why i do not use Rodent pro. because there rats were not big enough to suite my needs. if this all you have to do is nit pick at peoples posts it is a shame. look around and you will find other sources to buy your rats where they are larger. also i keep my rats on hand so i feed them up so i add some weight to them. next week when i buy some more i will post a pick and try to get tehm on a scale so you can see the exact weight. if that would please you?
Hey I( wasn't being sarcastic at all, I'd LOVE to find some biger rats. I'll call them, thanks for the information. I HAVE been looking around. I'd love to see a giant rat o9n a scale, yes that would delight me no end.

sorry for getting defensive. but i was a little p.o.ed about someone saying my red-tail was not 9 foot. it turned out i was 1.5 feet short and felt dumb about that. so i was in a bad mood. but i can say that incredible pets has wonderful rats. Good Luck on your search. but like i said i also keep the rats for an extra month before i feed and that adds a little weight.
Sure looks like that could be a 9' Boa to me. However, I for one am really not trying to nit pick but I have been raising rats for about eight years. We have produced hundreds of thousands of rats. I used to buy all the excess rats from a company in Wisconsin more than fifteen years ago now. I would buy 7000 - 8000 mice per week and about 1000 rats per week. They would raise some especially large ones just for fun to see how big they could get them. The largest one they ever raised was bigger than I have ever done personally myself. This rat weighed 1075 grams or about 2 lbs. 6 oz. I have not seen a 2 lb. rat before or since. I kept this rat in my freezer for years showing it to folks that stopped buy like a trophy. Bigger by far that anything I have raised or had ever seen.
It is certainly possible there is a strain of rats out there that get a whole lot bigger than I have seen but I have not heard of them. I think it's more likely the place where you get them may be exaggerating or guessing the rats weight much higher than reality.
Great looking Boa too by the way!
