Blood NEVER comes out

Finnigan Apr 22, 2007 08:53 PM

Hello,

I have a baby blood who is 4-6 months old, sheds well and eats well, but absolutely never comes out of his hide box. Admittedly I'm not watching 24/7 but I would bet on him not coming out at night.

I guess my question is "is this normal?" ... are bloods notoriously this shy? My ball python is the life of the party compared to this guy!

My collection is small now, but I am experienced with reptiles and I am aware of how much they like to hide ... but this is my first and only blood and I'm just curious if it is normal for them to be this shy.

Just to show you how different animals can be, my blood almost never uses her hide. She's out most all day every day. The only time she hides, which isn't often, is after eating. Then, she buries down in the substrate.

My ball python hides about half of each day, just for comparison.

I guess every snake is a little bit different.
