SALMON PASTEL LITTER

midnightherps Apr 22, 2007 10:36 PM

This is my second litter for the year. I dont plan to keep any of them.

A Salmon Pastel (Summit Reptiles) to a 30lb normal.

35 babies
8.8 Salmons (pastel?)
11.8 normals (pastel?)
1 siamese twin

THE FATHER

Look at that tail. Is that normal for a normal?

Im sure these salmons are going to look killer when they shed.

Siamese Twin...Ive seen a two headed boa (Roussis Reptiles) but has anyone ever produced one of these? Too bad it didnt live.

OOoops! Totaly forgot about dinner when I noticed my girl was dropping. Wife smelled the burning and thought somebodys house was on fire.

Heres a short video of one of the babies taking its first breath.

Thanks for looking.

I do love that new acquisition in the mail feeling!!

He will be a good addition to my existing collection. I laready have one of the summit pastel males, an absolute screamer by any measure and if this ones even close, way cool.

Nice capture of the color. Your male seems to be very orange. Real pretty. The male I just sent you is literaly the color of salmon meat. Hes in shed right now but youll have use your camera skills to capture some of his color for us all.

The burnt dinner says it all. It's better than christmas.

midnightherps Apr 23, 2007 06:44 PM

You can say that again. All my friends and family are having HUMAN babies while Im making baby snakes. If the world stands this still when I get to watch a mother snake give birth I can hardly wait to see my own kids one day..........hmmmmm........on second thought...........maybe Ill just stick with the snakes........they seem to be workin pretty well........j/k..............Ill let you all know when me and the misses finaly get one of our own.

Very nice pics. Is that white butcher block paper you are using in your adult female's cage? If so, how do you like it?

Never seen Siamese twins, but I produced a pair of identical twins that were slightly premature and connected to the same yolk sac. Both were almost exactly half the weight of their other litter mates.

The paper is recycled unprinted newspaper. My buddy uses butcher paper. It works alright. The problem with butcher paper is that it is resistant that it takes a while for it to absorb (like urine) but its difficult for the snakes to make a mess of it.

I like the unprinted newspaper. I by it online in rolls. They last quite awhile.

Ya....that siamese twin is pretty funky. Wish it lived. Did your twins live?

Rick Staub Apr 24, 2007 04:20 PM

Yes, the identical twins lived. They were small but developed enough that the external yolk was not a problem. I have a picture somewhere of them both connected to the same yolk. I'll see if I can find it.

Where online do you buy the unprinted newspaper? I hate having to piece in the sections to cover the length of the cage.
