lethargic turtle

I have a question about my bf's RES. For almost a year he's been in a 20 gallon, and about a month and a half ago was moved into a 40 gallon. He doesn't bask that we know of, and he sits under his dock all day, he doesn't swim or move, and he hasn't been eating nearly as much as he did. He was always a skittish turtle, so I think it might be stress from the new tank along with where his tank is now, next to the bathroom and on the floor where previously he was in a spot in the room where he was rarely bothered, on a stand. I think maybe all the movement and noise is stressing him out, but does anyone have any other ideas?

The same thing happened to my Eastern Painted. I put her in a new, much bigger tank. I added her little cave and the same decorations, but she also hid under the basking ramp for about three days. She didn't even want her red wiggler worms. (Her favorite) But after about three or four days she started to explore, and now is eating and doing just fine.
Good luck...I think she will be OK.

My sliders have always done the same thing. I changed things around so they would have more room, and they've been sulking in a corner for almost 2 weeks. they're eating though, so I'm not too worried. I'd like to see them bask again, but I know that will come back. Just be patient, I bet they'll come around when they feel safer in their new spot.
