Hello, I have to move about 5 hours by car to Reno and I need some ideas on doing this. I do not want to disturb the tortoise too much, so what type of container is used? She is 7" dia.
Do you just put her into a box, with airholes and keep her in the dark. When I take her to the vet, she really wants to get out of the box and does not stop moving.

Just keep it like you sez, inna box with holes. Some shredded
paper, NO DRAFT. I ship xross country all the time by dark, noisy

What I would recommend is giving your phayrei a good soak before your move. Place it in one of those med sized rubbermaid plastic tubs(preferrably a solid colored one vs. clear/opaque one) with some bark or hay and put some holes in it toward the top with a lid on it. There is probably nothing you can do to stop it from moving around. All you can do is make it as comfortable as possible. Hope this helps.
