Here is what I was told by the clerk of the Local & Consent Calendar Committee. As soon as the House adjourns, which was supposed to be 4:00 pm, the Local and Consent Calendar Committee will meet. It is 5:30 central time and the House has still not adjourned so keep calling the LCCC and the clerk.

I just spoke with my Reps office clerk. She said that the House is in for a long night. She said the House is on the second reading of the first bill so it will be a late night. I asked if she thought the LCCC would meet tonight and she said she didn't know but that some committees have met until 5:00 am.

Remember, even if they decide to schedule it on the House L&CC, we can still amend it or have it sent back to them with requests from as few as five Reps.

Perhaps the best action they could take tonite would be NONE. That way is just sits in their committee for another week while we gain momentum against it.

BTW, did you see anything else after we met the other night? I drove all the way home and walk 3-4 cuts w/o seeing anything else (except a Brewster Co sheriff's deputy).
