Soak her in lukewarm water for a lil while, maybe 20 minutes, then get a bit of scotch tape and gently (GENTLY) see if the scotch tape'll get it off. I have success with using some tweezers to gently lift off the eye cap, since there's almost always a leading edge that I can grab that's not on the eye itself. Word of the day here is GENTLE. If the eye cap does not come off fairly easily, with little tugging, then leave it alone for nature to take its course, and if it keeps getting worse...well you know what to do
