another genetics question

Forgot to add this to the earlier thread. I have been out of herps for almost 10 years and recently my daughter got some leos. Is anyone breeding axanthics? My out dated knowledge of the corns and such tells me an albino and an axanthic will produce "snows" yet the snows I am seeing do not resemble the snows I am used to seeing. Further more, I have not seen any axanthics offered although I havent search for them alot.
Ever since the luecistic screw up with the leos I am leary of what people are calling their leos. Enlighten me please especially if I am wrong.

Are you asking if there is an Axanthic Gecko if so there isnt. And there has been No True Leucistic gecko out there.

well this isnt spelt the same but when you say it it kinda of sounds the same. JMG is working on a project that they are calling geckos Hyper Xanthic= meaning an excessive amount or more then usual yellow. so i dont know if that is what you are thinking of. i dont know how crossing that with another gecko would produce a snow however being as snows were geckos who had they least amount of yellow breed to each other over and over again.

im not sure what the deal is with the luecestic.

Leopard gecko morphs are notorius for being named poorly in relation to existing morphs in other reptiles. The snows that are avaliable in Leos are not albino x axanthic designer morphs, They are instead either lines selectively breed for reduced/no yellow, or the result of an incomplete dominant trait that also affects the pattern (Mack snows).

I have not heard of anyone working with a simple recessive mutation that produces axanthic Leos. Line bred snows and Mack snows are just called albino snows when bred into albino lines. I know it's dumb, but what can ya do?

thinking at work today I realized that I made an error and it isnt axanthic albino it is anery albino = snows. In corns it is anyways. I am leary with what people are calling their leos as I have seen patternless (old school leucistic) and blizzards look damn near the same. Seems a guy can get taken if he doesnt know his stuff.
