Howdy!

Hey I was wondering about the activity level I should expect from the little one(3#)or any young Collared for that matter. From everything I have read they are highly active. However, little #3 pretty much stays under his hides. Mostly, the one the warm end. I never have seen him use a basking spot. Because of this I fear he is not getting enough UV since he is under the hide all the time. He may just still be acclimating to the new enclosure but I thought better safe than sorry.

Probably still acclimating to the lighting schedule. My lights kick on early am...about 5:30, and go off about 8:30. They usually are all out in the morning, by 8:00. Just wake him up...take his hide out in the morning, and toss him some food. I put two flat rocks in my tank, and lay the UVB light on the two flat rocks, with the bulb facing the bottom. My guys will lay on top of the light, and soak up heat from the plastic casing, and also lay about one inch below the bulb too.

Make sure you let ice cubes melt on the screen top, and drip onto a tupperware bowl lid or something.

John
