Concidering a collard

phiber_optikx Apr 24, 2007 11:38 PM

I am concidering a collard lizard and had a few questions on them. What is the smallest size you would use for a single adult? 20 long? 40 breeder? Are they personable? Like a beardie.... are they handleable? Where can you purchase a cb one? Thanks again for any advice!

Hi, nice to have you here Collareds are awesome, colorful, get very tame/friendly with frequent handling, are fun to watch, very active normally, acrobatic !

Much more active than a beardie, smaller of course, more managable if you like that. One adult can be in a 20 long, but heck if given a choice the 40 breeder would be awesome. They use every inch of space. And I KNOW after you get one you will want a mate for yours (always happens) they are really beautiful lizards.

As far as captive bred some here will have collareds available as the season goes on, Mayish/ June. Alot of eggs incubating now. You would have to contact and discuss purchasing privately through email. Or you can look inclassifieds and see if there are any available sooner. MAKE sure you get CB if you want a handleable/ healthy pet from the start. Get pictures, always ask for pictures before buying online of the actual animal.

Hey hope you enjoy the forum
