Mine have been doing the same all day...I can't get them apart! I'm starting to become concerned as it has been over 7 hours since I first noticed and there is a large bulge above the female's cloaca. Is that normal? This is the first time I've actually caught them locked up...she just laid 10 eggs 3 days ago. So what about the bulge? Is that the males hemipenes inside her? It is a really large bulge.

hi,
don't worry about that, just wait until they finished and then look again what it looks like.

After nearly 11 hours they finally seperated and back to normal.

If the female just laid eggs, I would defenatly NOT have them together before the female gained some more weight. In my opinion its not healthy for the female and the massive weigth loss they have from producing eggs most be restored before mating again.
