Nice! Flipped or crossing a road? What time and weather conditions? I usually find 2-3 every spring under A/C at dark and then find 1-2 every fall crossing roads at night in the western piedmont/foothills of NC.

I love 'em. I currently have 3.1 from Catawba County and 0.1 from neighboring Lincoln County. Every one looks different...I like to call them North Carolina Thayeri!

Let me know if he starts feeding for you. They can be a pain to start but once started are very hardy.

I found him crossing the road just a little before noon. The temp. was around 80 degrees with full sun.I usually see them at night crossing roads. Jeff

Very nice! A friend of mine found one on his property in Wake County, North Carolina last year. Have mole kings ever been documented in this county b4?

Check out Palmer and Braswell's book about NC Reptiles. It has good, detailed records of which county each species has been found in. According to the book, several have been found in Wake Co.
