Just heard from the vet, about Albert's foot.

He doesn't seem very convinced that this can be taken care of easily. He said he has an infection and a possible ankle fracture. He said this may be taken care of w/antibiotics, but it could come back if the ankle is fractured. It can all be taken care of w/amputation, which is going to cost an arm and a leg. I decided to try the antibiotics to see if they work. If not, he goes back and loses his leg. I feel soooo bad for him. I will try my best to make him as comfortable as possible though.

See ya.

It is the absolute last resort, yeah, do the antibiotics, hope that does not have to happen ! I would even get another opinion Carrie ! Just me ! Eve

there aren't many reptile vets around here (Clearwater, FL). There used to be more, but they quit their practices. And the others are horrible! I have a few friends who go to him and they just rave about him. If the antibiotics don't work, then I will take a day off and take him elsewhere. I REALLY, REALLY hope they work though. I just don't see spending that much on him. I mean, I love him very much...but I don't have a bond w/him like I do w/my other kids. He's not the bonding sort I guess. I've tried. But, I won't let him suffer either. It's a very hard descision.
Gotta jet.

sorry, I couldn't pass that up. sorry to hear that. I would highly think the antibiotics will cure this if it is indeed an infection. If it is a fracture, it should heal anyway, and not create any more infections. I think you got some crazy vet talk from a guy that wants to go on vacation (with your money).
