My sisters found a garter snake under the car tire. My mom decided to take him in but we don't know what to feed him.

nightcrawlers... if that don't work- small frogs, fish, tadpoles, etc.

hello ... do you intend to keep this garter as a pet or return it to the wild ?? Regardless, right now you can feed worms (as suggested) or rosey red feeder fish available at most pet stores and cheap 
)
