Bad Press again

rottenweiler9 Apr 27, 2007 08:30 AM

So, when I look at my home page there are about 10 articals about snakes. So, of course that peaks my interest. Well, its of stupid people who own snakes, that leave them behind, or they get loose in the neighborhood. Anyways, all the stories say when the police apporach, it hisses and is in a stricking posistion. Hahahahhaa, I think that is daily for us. But then it shows them carrying it out, without the mouth taped or being held on to for dare life. This just drives me insane, first off the people who let this happen, and in one case it has happened a couple times, and two that if these animal control or police officers would understand that all you have to do is touch it on the head, in most cases it calms down and they always can huff and puff. I love one of the other stories where the news person said a Burmese Ball python, hahahahhahaha, it was a ball python, but anyway to get Burmese in the news for bad press they do it. Way to go ABC for getting that one right.

It's not always the cops or animal control who are at fault. I know several people who have talked to the press on such occasions and refuse to ever talk to them again. No matter how careful they are to explain things the reporter goes and writes something more "interesting" than the truth, usually blatantly misquoting whomever they talked to.

Although on video, I've also seen the cops or animal control say some pretty silly things too...
