Eggs question...

wolfwoman Apr 27, 2007 08:34 AM

Hi,
How long can you leave eggs in the nest box with mom before you remove them to the incubator? I am waiting for one snake to lay eggs but I also need to leave on the weekend for 2 days. If she were to lay on Saturday morning, would they be OK until Sunday night?

technically you can leave them till they hatch if the temp is around 80 to 82 degrees........

the mother will usually leave the nest after she sheds ...which will be about 10 days after laying......

the female may roll them around and may end up killing some this way.....but they usually stick together to prevent this.

they will be fine.......

............I have had snakes lay and not noticed them for at least 2 days already......probably more than once......
